[ARCHIVED] 3 Police promotions include first hispanic Lieutenant in town history

Dennis Basulto is first hispanic Lt in town history; Lt Norman Hall has done an exceptional job as Commanding Officer of the town's community affairs unit and Sgt Mark Maiden has been an outstanding patrol officer

The Greenburgh Town Board promoted three officers at recent Town Board meetings. Lieutenant Dennis Basulto made local history by becoming the first Hispanic Lieutenant in town history. Lieutenant Norman Hall has served as Commanding Officer of the town's Community Affairs Unit  and Sgt  Mark Maiden has done an excellent job in our patrol division. We thank each of these outstanding leaders for their service to our town. Their bios are below.

PAUL FEINER



Lieutenant Dennis Basulto

  • Raised in the unincorporated town of Greenburgh and Graduated from Fordham Prep High School

 

  •  continued his education at Fairfield University   

     
  • And was ultimately hired by JP <Morgan Chase

     
  • 2 years later, in 2003, Dennis was hired as a police officer by the Town

     
  • After graduating from the Police Academy, Dennis was assigned to the Patrol Division. 

     
  • Dennis did an outstanding job in the patrol division and eventually assigned to the Community Policing Unit 2007-2014.

     
  • In February of 2014, Dennis was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to supervise a patrol squad on our midnight to 8 shift. 

     
  • Dennis’ talents were recognized and in 2020, he was assigned to the Detective Division as a Squad Supervisor

 

  

LIEUTENANT Norman Hall

 

  • Raised in the city of Mount Vernon and Graduated from Mount Vernon High School

 

  • Norman continued his education at Norfolk State University and completed his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice at Monroe College  

     
  • And was ultimately hired by JP <Morgan Chase

     
  • January of 2000, Norman was hired as a police officer by the Town

     
  • After graduating from the Police Academy, Norman was assigned to the Patrol Division. 

     
  • Norman did an outstanding job in the patrol division and
  • was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2008, and was assigned to supervise a patrol squad on our midnight to 8 shift. 

     
  • Norman’s talents were recognized and in 2015, he was assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Community Affairs Unit.

 


SEREGANT MARK MAIDEN

 

  • Raised in the unincorporated town of Greenburgh and Graduated from The Harvey School

 

  • Mark continued his education at Duquesne University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration 

     
  • After working several years in the private sector, Mark decided to return to school and in 2012 earned his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College
  • \
  • One year later, in 2013 Mark was sworn in as a Greenburgh Police Officer.
  • After graduating from the Police Academy, Mark was assigned to the Patrol Division.
