Westchester turned over County Center to NYS to be used as a hospital. Contractor under supervision of Army Corp of Engineers has started work near Fulton Park .Corona virus spreading quickly from gas pumps. Wear gloves or use towels when pumping.
WORK STARTING ON COUNTY CENTER --TO BE TURNED INTO A HOSPITAL-----NYS A contractor under the supervision of the Army Corps of Engineers has begun work at the County Center which is located next to the Fulton Park neighborhood of Greenburgh. They are putting up concrete barriers on route 119 today. County Police are assisting. I believe they are still a number of weeks away from opening. The county turned over the center to NYS which plans to convert the building into a hospital during the pandemic. NYS has not told us whether they plan to dedicate the hospital for non covid patients. However, the Javits and hospital ship is being dedicated to non-covid patients so it’s possible that this is there plan. I have reached out to the Governor’s office and have asked them to advise the town of their plans.ADVICE FROM A RESIDENT ABOUT GETTING CORONA VIRUS FROM GAS PUMPS "I just spoke with a friend who got called into an emergency meeting at his hospital. He said the virus is spreading quickly from gas pumps. He said to wear gloves or have a paper towel touch the pump and throw the napkin or gloves out before you get back in the car. Please tell everyone you know."Paul Feiner
