[ARCHIVED] coronovirus update from county

updated info in the full text below from Westchester County regarding coronavirus--what NYS and county are doing
The County’s hotline for all residents who are quarantined and need assistance is 866-588-0195. Others should call 211

Received the following update from former Greenburgh Councilwoman Ellen Hendrickx who now works for the County Executive relating to coronavirus. Feel free to e mail me questions at pfeiner@greenburghny..com. I will follow up and try to get answers.
The County participated in a conference call today with New York State officials regarding Novel Coronavirus.
Governor Cuomo announced that additional cases of Novel Coronavirus had been confirmed in New York State, bringing the new total to 34 cases as of this moment (Friday, March 6, at 6:00 PM).
New York State Emergency Services has opened command centers at the Department of Health in New Rochelle and the Traffic Management Center in Valhalla. They are expanding their staff to answer questions and increasing the capability for testing.
The state clarified its testing protocols:
Testing will occur if a person has come within 6 feet of a person confirmed to be infected
Testing will occur if a person under quarantine experiences symptoms of Novel Coronavirus
Testing will occur if a person has recently traveled to one of the 5 global hotspots
Testing will occur if a person is seriously ill and has not tested positive for any other disease
Doctors may, at their discretion, deem Novel Coronavirus testing necessary
The state clarified its mandatory quarantine protocols:
Have tested positive for Coronavirus
Have had direct contact (within 6 feet) with person who tested positive
Returned from country with level 2 or 3 travel notice and has symptoms
The state clarified its precautionary quarantine protocols:
Returned from a country of concern but are not symptomatic
Had proximate (not direct) exposure to a positive case
Others recommended by health officials
New York State created hotlines specifically for members of Young Israel of New Rochelle and residents connected to the synagogue. Individuals can get those numbers by calling the County hotline. The County’s hotline for all residents who are quarantined and need assistance is 866-588-0195. 211 is still available for the general public to call. These phones are staffed 24hrs.
