Greenburgh Library - interesting events this week and every week

numerous programs lectures, events -ranging from citizenship prep to a dicussion on reparations sponsored by the NAACP to classes dealing with androids and programs for children. The library is more than a place to get books!

the Greenburgh Library is more than a place to take out books! The Library sponsors classes, programs, lectures each week. Some examples:

# This Tuesday September 19 -- US Citizenship test prep from 5-7 pm

# Panel discussion on reparations remedies in NYS sponsored by the NAACP Greenburgh White Plains this Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 8 PM (registration required- see link) Hybrid. Despite it  anti slavery rhetoric, slavery remained legal in NY until 1827. The NYS Legislature created a commission tasked with studying the history of slavery and racial discrimination in NYS and recommending possible measure to address the generational trauma that people of color continue to experience stemming from that history. NYS is the 2nd state in the nation to form such a commission-following California's example.

#Mobile device basics android  Wednesday September 20 from  6:30 pm to 8 pm

#sing along with Howie on Friday September 22nd from 2:30 to 4 PM

#Homework help center Tuesdays starting  September 19 from 5 to 7 p for grades 1 to 6

# preschool stories and more on Tuesday September 19th at 4 pm (registration required)

# Community Center without walls- instroduction to library services: Wednesday September 20 from 6-8 pm in person

#Tween Advisory Group Sunday Septmeber 24th at 2 PM Children's Program room grades 4-8

# English III The Evergreen Club at 11 AM Tuesday September 19. Knitting sponsored by the Evergreen Club Tuesday at 1:15 Chinese Brush Painting with Master Chao and the Evergreen Club  2 to 4 pm in person on Tuesday

...that's just for starters! On Wednesday there are stories, songs and silliness, french conversation group and on Saturday real reads, non fiction book club. Click onto the link for further information.
