Attention: The Town of Greenburgh is seeking volunteers for 2 newly created Committees -

Housing and Sustainable Energy Committees!

 

 

Housing Committee

The Town of Greenburgh seeks volunteers to serve on a Housing Committee which focuses on implementation aspects of the Town’s Greenburgh Against Systemic Racism (GASR) Housing Report. The Committee’s focus will be to build upon the housing policies identified in the Town of Greenburgh Comprehensive Plan (See Chapter 10 – Demographics and Housing Adopted Comprehensive Plan) and the Town’s Greenburgh Against Systemic Racism (GASR) Housing Report. Particular areas of concentration will be review of the existing Zoning Ordinance and new local law formation as identified in the GASR Housing Report.

 

It is anticipated that the Committee will meet at least once per month, with meetings more frequent (twice per month) during local law research/formulation. The Committee will be supported by Town staff, primarily through the Department of Community Development and Conservation.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Committee

The Town of Greenburgh seeks volunteers to serve on a Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Committee (SEEC). The SEEC’s focus will be to oversee new local laws for the Town which regulate existing and emerging technologies such as: fuel cell technology, electric vehicle charging stations, ground-mount solar facilities, wind turbines, etc. Other areas of focus for the committee will be review of potential grants, funding sources and resiliency planning/hazard mitigation planning, as it relates to sustainable energy.

 

A willingness to conduct research in sustainability and energy efficiency is desired. 

 

It is anticipated that the Committee will meet at least once per month, with meetings more frequent (twice per month) during local law research/formulation. The SEEC will be supported by Town staff, primarily through the Department of Community Development and Conservation.
