[ARCHIVED] Hastings High School student discusses importance of organic food recycling

Gus Renzin discusses hudsoncompost.com --a new business run by students/former Hastings students --picking up food waste

Gus Renzin, who is starting his senior year at Hastings High School is involved with the Hudson Compost Services- a group of Hastings High school students and graduates looking to make an impact in their local community. The students noticed that residents were less likely to compost if they personally take their food waste to drop off sites. They decided to start a pickup program allowing residents to participate in curbside composting designed be just like trash and recycling services. If you are interested in signing up check the hudsoncompost.com website.

You can listen to Gus Renzin talk about composting, what he and other students are doing to have an overall positive impact on the local and global environment, helping communities divert food waste from landfills by clicking to the link below.
