If you're feeling down in the dumps about people --keep reading stories about how bad things are --this posting might change your mind. Jackson Tavel, a senior at Edgemont High School founded a group called the Landscape Angels. The Landscape Angels, modelled after our successful snow angel program (now in its 30th year) is helping seniors and disabled residents with landscaping at no cost to them. Jackson, his family and other volunteers have been devoting their free time helping seniors who can't afford to maintain their lawns --making their properties more presentable.
Jackson has been working on this initiative since the summer. A snow angel during past snow storms - Jackson wants to make a positive difference in other people's lives. And, he has already made lots of people smile and happy because of his efforts. Jackson was invited to speak to the Greenburgh Town Board last night about his efforts. His presentation and some slides highlighting his work can be seen on the link below.
Greenburgh is fortunate to have some amazing students in our town--our future national, state and local leaders are prepared to change the world for the better and they have already started working towards achieving that goal. Feel great about our future!
