A young woman who is now wheelchair confined lives on the 2nd floor of an apartment. She has difficulty getting outside and needs a stair lift. Will you help her?
Last week, while bicycling around the Greenburgh Housing Authority apartments, I met a woman whose daughter was recently diagnosed with a illness called Cipd. It effects the nerves on her hands feet and legs. She is now in a wheelchair it is very hard for her to come down her stairs (her bedroom is upstairs) so the family has to carry her. It's sad. She is in her room most of every day, unable to enjoy the outdoors. OR, to have a good quality of life.
I would like to raise funds for a stair lift so the young woman can comfortably get out of her apartment and have a better quality of life. The Greenburgh Housing Authority and Building department have inspected the apartment and have advised that there are no building related obstacles to her getting the lift. The apartment has seven steps we need the lift for.
If you are interested in helping this young woman get the lift she desperately needs, please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. If you have experience with lifts and have recommendations (or know of vendors who might give her a good price and excellent service) please also get back to me. Thank you in advance. Let's make her family smile instead of cry.
