Welcome to the Town of Greenburgh Police Department's website. The Town of Greenburgh is located in Westchester County, New York about a twenty-minute drive north from New York City. Bordered on the south by the City of Yonkers and on the east by White Plains, it is a diverse community with a resident population of just over 42,000.

The attraction of its retail establishments, light industry and professional buildings, however, swells its daytime population to well over 100,000 persons.

Department Overview

With an authorized strength of 115 sworn officers and a civilian staff of 42, the Greenburgh Police Department is the fifth largest municipal police agency in Westchester County.

With Community Policing as its guiding philosophy and service its objective, the department is organized into three components, the Patrol, Detective and Staff Services Divisions. Under these divisions are units that provide specialized services. Unique among police departments in New York is Greenburgh's Paramedic Unit that provides emergency medical services up to the Advanced Life Support level to residents of the town and its six incorporated villages.

Special Victims Unit

Our community policing commitment extends particularly to the young people within the township. The Special Victims Unit is tasked not only with addressing juvenile crime but more importantly with both creating and actively participating in proactive programs designed to provide our youngsters with the resources and ability necessary to make the correct decisions in their lives.
