POSITION:   1 – Paralegal* (Provisional Permanent)
*This position is a competitive position and the successful candidate must meet the minimum qualifications at the time of hire and will be required to take the appropriate civil service exam for this title at a later date.

 
LOCATION: Town of Greenburgh – Office of the Town Attorney  
                                    177 Hillside Avenue
                                    Greenburgh, New York   10607
 
WORK WEEK:  35 hours     SALARY:  $47,000.00 annual
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and possession of a certificate from a paralegal studies program accredited by the Standing Committee on Legal Assistants of the American Bar
 
DISTIGUINISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
Under general supervision, an incumbent in this class is responsible for performing various paralegal tasks in support of a jurisdiction’s legal department ort municipal attorney, Including research and preparation of legal documents and litigation cases.  Responsibilities may include extensive inter-office and public contact.  Does related work as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES:
Good Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures; good knowledge of legal terminology; ability to gather assemble and analyze information; ability to use computer applications software; ability to understand and carry our oral and written instructions; ability to organize material concisely in writing and orally; ability to maintain effective working relationships, initiative, tact. Good judgment; physical condition commensurate with the requirements of the position.
