Recreation open space overlay district vote postponed -no vote tomorrow
Release Date: March 11, 2014

The Greenburgh Town Board will not vote on the proposal to start the review process of the proposed recreation open space overlay district at tomorrow evenings Town Board meeting. . At the last meeting of the Town Board some neighbors who reside close to The Golf Range expressed some concerns about placing an indoor sports bubble at the golf range property.  Last week Councilman Ken Jones &  I met with some of the residents who spoke at the meeting ---during the next few weeks I will have additional meetings with people  who live close to the golf range to share thoughts and to discuss possible compromise options.   Among compromise options: allowing a building that would be more aesthetically pleasing and not as high..
The Town Board meets tomorrow evening at 7:30 PM. Although no vote will take place tomorrow evening - residents of the town are always invited and encouraged to speak out at Town Board meetings on issues of concern.
At the Town Board work session today we met with a commercial broker who expressed interest in contracting with the town to sell the Frank's property - on Dobbs Ferry Road. The work session/discussion is archived on the town website: www.greenburghny.com. The Town Board will be interviewing other  commercial brokers. After we finalize the broker we will schedule a date for the sale of Frank's. The Town Board has agreed to sell the property to a purchaser who offers us the highest and best purchase price.  We have already identified (without a commercial brokers help) about 10 potential purchasers and have received some good verbal offers.  It's important that the sale be open, transparent.
