POSTAL OFFICIALS TO MEET WITH AREA RESIDENTS AT LOCAL POST OFFICES THIS SATURDAY 11 TO 2 PM

If you are continuing to experience problems with your mail service this event might be of interest to you. During the past 4 or 5 years I have forwarded hundreds of complaints to Postal Service officials and to congressional representatives. Lost mail, no deliveries, not receiving bills or medication in the mail, etc.. I continue to receive complaints from Greenburgh residents about postal service. I have also experienced problems with the postal service. Last week, for example, I received an e mail from an organization that I belong to saying: "Did you move? We sent something out to you at your address and it came back to us saying no such number. Please advise." I have resided in the same house for 22 years and haven't moved.
I spoke with the chief operating officer of the United States Postal Service recently. He is determined to address the problems residents are experiencing.I communicate with the regional administrator for the US Postal Service a few times a week= sometimes daily. I don't think it's only a local problems. It's national. If you meet with postal officials on Saturday please advise of your experiences. The Wall Street Journal reported last week that the US Postal Service plans to raise postage stamp rates to 50 cents. If they increase postage rates they should also make sure that people can depend on reliable service.

Customer Appreciation Day Lets Residents Put Their Stamp on Local Operations
White Plains, NY – Westchester District postal officials are hosting Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 14 at 21 select Post Offices in the area. Postal managers will be in the 21 Post Office lobbies from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. talking to customers, thanking them for their business, and soliciting feedback to help identify areas of opportunity to improve service.
“Customer Appreciation Day gives us the opportunity to thank customers and hear what they have to say,” says Westchester District Manager Richard Conte. “These are very competitive and challenging times for the PostalService and we need to hear from our customers about the things we are doing right and where we can improve.”

Westchester postal officials also encourage residents to contact the Postal Service’s toll free Customer Care Center at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) with specific concerns, complaints and compliments. Residents can also send postal officials an email by visiting the Postal Service’s website and clicking on “Contact Us” at the bottom of our USPS.com homepage. Every call and email will be carefully documented and appropriate action taken.
