GREENBURGH SCHOOLS TO BE FEATURED AT NEW YORK METS GAME ON MAY 31
Release Date: May 22, 2017

The Greenburgh Central School District and Greenburgh Central School District PTA Council are proud to announce "Greenburgh Central

School District Day" at Citi-Field Stadium (formerly Shea Stadium) on Wednesday, May 31 as the New York Mets play the

Milwaukee Brewers. Citi-Field Stadium is located in Corona, New York. The baseball game begins at 7:10pm.

This will not be an ordinary baseball game. The New York Mets and its affiliates have designated this specific game

as the day to acknowledge and celebrate the Greenburgh Central School District. Our various student jazz bands will

perform live before game time; a national public announcement identifying May 31 as "Greenburgh Central School

District Day" will be made during the 4th inning of the baseball game with television cameras panning towards our seating

area; and, our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tahira DuPree Chase will throw out the first pitch of the game as Principal

Gary Mastrangelo will assume the position of the back catcher.

Non-refundable and non-transferable tickets for this family-fun event are currently available for purchase

Each ticket costs $25.00, with a portion of that price designated for scholarships for our graduating

Class of 2017.

Fan buses will be available for those who elect the transportation option to and from the Citi-Field Stadium in

Queens. The cost for a round-trip bus ride is $15 per person. Buses will leave Woodlands Middle/High School by

4:45pm on May 31.

In the interim, should you have questions about "Greenburgh Central School District Day" at Citi-Field, please do

not hesitate to contact PTA Council President, Tracy C. Mairs at 914.349.2257 or Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tahira

DuPree Chase at 914.761.6000 ext 3103 or tchase@greenburghcsd.org. We hope to see a strong show of support for our

school district at Citi-Field Stadium. We are honored to have a major league baseball team dedicate their game to our school

district.
