I have scheduled a meeting for Monday, April 24th at 8:15 PMat the MultipurposeBuilding, VeteranTownPark, HeatherdellRoadto form a FRIENDS OF THE DOG PARK. The Friends Committee will help the town raise the funds that are necessary to maintain a dog park. We estimate that the costs of annual maintenance of the park will be about $6000.

Last year Senator Nick Spano secured $43,000 in state funds for a dog park in Greenburgh. CountyExecutiveAndrew Spano announced that the town can have access to a section of RidgeParkand build a dog park at that county park. There are still some unresolved issues but if we work together we can make the dog park happen.  The Friends Committee will also assist the town in developing rules/reg’s for the park.

If you are interested in joining the Friends of the Dog Park Committee or know of any dog lover who might like to help us move the process that will lead to the park being built  forward, please e mail pfeiner@greenburghny.com.   PAUL FEINER
