Helpful information for reassessment meeting with Tyler

SOME PEOPLE NOT SHOWING UP FOR APPOINTMENTS WITH TYLER

INFO THAT CAN HELP YOU MAKE A STRONGER CASE WHEN YOU MEET WITH TYLER

 

Tyler Technologies is still making appointments for the informal hearings, if you have still not made an appointment and need them to review your assessment, please call 1-800-273-8605.
 
 They have reported to the assessor that there have been many people making appointments and not attending the hearings.  If you cannot make the appointment you made, please call them so they can fill the slot with others who need them. 
 
 Also, I received some information from our Town Assessor, as to what you may want to bring with you to prove your case to them.  I am sending this out to assist in the process: photographs (inside and out), cost estimates of any work completed or in the process, an appraisal or a market analysis from a realtor, sales listing or contract of sale, comparable sales in your neighborhood, and lastly, everything and anything you feel would change the value of your home, such as, but definitely not limited to: your property floods, you live on a busy corner, or close to a highway or commercial property or tension wires, etc.  another example, may be, your kitchen and bathrooms have not been updated or they have, or the house is under construction.  Again, the more you tell them, the more information they will have to assess your property correctly.  By law, you do not have to let them, but it would surely help if they request an inspection.

 

I hope this information helps. Will continue to provide information to the community about the reassessment process--which I know is very stressful for those who have been advised that their taxes could go up.
