Bart Talamani, the Town Comptroller, has advised the Town Board that he will not be seeking reappointment when his term of office ends on December 31st. This is a disappointment. During his tenure as Town Comptroller Mr. Talamani helped the town receive the sought after Aaa bond rating from both Standard & Poor's and Moody's bond rating agency--saving the taxpayers about $300,000 a year. This is the highest rating a community can receive --one that only 1% of localities around the nation have earned.  The town has complied with the tax cap every year since the cap was approved by Albany -an achievement other communities around the state have failed to accomplish. Mr. Talamani's projections also encouraged the Town Board to look for and implement additional cost savings measures and efficiencies.  He will be missed.
