Snow plowing & road conditions update....an interesting art exhibit in Hastings
Release Date: January 24, 2015

Just received a report from Richard Fon, Deputy Commissioner of Public Works.  Our crews were out at about 1 AM to start clearing the snow. There were between 26-30 trucks out during the evening at any given time.  Around 3 AM we had a complete white out, heavy snow, roads got bad very fast.  The crews are continuing to clean the roads.
Just called the Greenburgh police department - asked about current  road conditions. They advise: roads are passable but still slippery. recommendation: Better to stay home for the next hour or two until our highway department completes their work...
The Arts Commission of Hastings has invited Ellen Hopkins Fountain, one of America's premiere watercolorists to exhibit her paintings of the Palisades and other specific Hasting's views at the Municipal building in Hastings--near the Hastings on Hudson train station. The exhibit is getting great reviews.
Greenburgh also has a fantastic art gallery--thanks to the hard work of Sarah Bracey White, who oversees the Greenburgh arts and culture committee. Our Town Hall is more than a municipal building --but an art museum--with new art constantly being shown.  If you're planning to stop by at Town Hall this week to pay your school taxes (taxes due the end of the month) - spend some time enjoying our art exhibits and the work of local artists.
