It’s my policy to immediately notify neighbors and the community of proposed developments as soon as I learn of the proposal…
Our Lady of Shkodra Parish located on W Hartsdale Ave is proposing a new Parish Hall to accommodate church functions, weddings and other similar church activities. The capacity of this building will be no greater than 500 people. When one adds the seating in the church and the new structure, a total of 275 cars are required according to the attached letter from architect Joel Greenberg. Mr. Greenberg indicated that the church has accommodations for 276 cars. However, both the church and the Parish Hall will not be occupied at the same time – according to Mr. Greenberg.
I have asked the Commissioner of Planning to invite a representative of the church to our work session on Tuesday, February 26th. Our work session starts at 10 AM and our meetings are broadcast live on the town website: www.greenburghny.com. Meetings are open to the public and are held at Town Hall.
Residents who live near the church who have questions that they would like asked can email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. One suggestion I have (if the plan is approved) is for the church to be asked to absorb the costs of a new sidewalk from the church line to Pat Capone Road on W Hartsdale Ave. I frequently see pedestrians parking their cars in the Poets Corner section of town and walking up and down a very busy avenue that includes two religious schools, a large nursery, a firehouse and Greenburgh Central school.
