The Irvington Town Hall Theater in Westchester County, NY is excited to announce the inaugural year of the ITHT Stage Door Playwright Festival. After three seasons of hosting innovative and compelling readings of new works by contemporary playwrights, the series has evolved into a weekend festival. It will launch this November in the beautiful historic theater situated above town hall in Irvington on Hudson, the theater is currently seeking submissions of new works from playwrights.
“After seeing the enthusiastic response and interaction of audiences to original readings, we knew this was a vibrant and valuable opportunity for the playwright, audiences and our theater,” says theater festival director Judith Klein Frimer. “We are thrilled to expand on what we’ve learned in three seasons to support the creative process and create a destination where audiences will be entertained and educated by contributing to the process of developing new works.”
Scripts should be a one-act, no more than an hour and submitted to ITHT Stage Door Playwright Festival, 85 Main Street, Irvington, N.Y. 10533 10533 or mailed electronically to email@example.com. Guidelines for submission, plays and production are available at: http://www.irvingtontheater.com/theatre-festival.
Scripts will be chosen by a panel of theater professionals and enthusiasts and announced by end of summer. The goal of the festival is to provide a forum for playwrights to bring their plays to life on stage, support the creative process and gain invaluable feedback from a live audience during a talkback led by an industry professional.
“The arts are alive and well in our small village on the Hudson,” says Theater Manager Gregory Allen. “We can’t wait to see what wonderful and diverse submissions we receive that will kick off this festival of new works.”
Additional questions can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Submissions must be received by September 15, 2017. Earlier submissions are encouraged.
Congratulations to ...Ardsley Junior District 14U for winning the District 20 championship recently. They were down 5-2 in the last inning against Sherman Park during the playoffs with two outs and won the game to make it to the championship game which was played on July 11th 2017 at 6pm at McDowell Field. They played against Elmsford which had won the division district twice already.
Ardsley's last win of any kind happened in 2010 from an older team which was 7 years ago. A junior team in Ardsley has never won district. This was a huge win for these kids and we are very proud of them. They played with heart against seasoned teams. Congratulations to the athletes and coaches who worked so hard.
