Gus Renzin is a 12 year old 6th grader at Farragut Middle School in Hastings.  He was this year's middle school winner of a MLK essay contest addressing how Dr. King would view civil rights today.  His enthusiasm for government and individual rights has inspired the creation of a bipartisan website and blog focusing on kids and politics.  He looks forward to voting when he turns 18, but for now tries to participate in the political process in other ways.  We invited Gus speak to the Greenburgh Town Board last night. He's a very intelligent 12 year old who has a great future ahead of him.  He's a fantastic speaker and a role model for other students.
At our Town Board meeting Emmy award nominees spoke about the Xposure After school radio program and aired their Emmy nominee video "Whatever Happened to Black Wall Street?"  An Interview with the esteemed Dr. Olivia J. Hooker, who is 102 years old was interviewed.  Dr. Hooker was a child during the 1921 Race Riot in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
