The Greenburgh Town Board is expected to vote on Wednesday to adopt  a Local Law amending  the Town Code  to include Motor Vehicle Sales Uses and Motor Vehicle Sales Lots as a Special Permit Use in the Central Avenue Mixed-Use Impact (CA) District.  New car dealerships will be allowed on Central Ave --helping to generate significant additional tax revenue for the town, fire and school districts.

Yesterday's Posh Pets Rescue was a success. Six adoptions took place. 4 adult cats and 2 kittens were adopted. Others offered to help Post Pets Rescue save more cats from bad situations in the future.

Danny Gold, former President of the E Irvington Civic Association, was instrumental in persuading the town to acquire more than 200 acres of parkland in E Irvington. He recently moved to NYC. The Town Board is expected to approve a resolution on Wednesday night  naming the blue trail in the Taxter Ridge Park Preserve the Danny Gold Trail

During the summer Westchester County sponsors  cultural heritage days. On different Sundays the county features different heritages. Today is the last cultural heritage festival for 2015 and will feature Jewish music traditions. The location: Kensico Dam from 12-6 PM in Valhalla.  During the summer I have bicycled to most of the festivals - enjoying the Bronx River Parkway bike trail which gets cyclists to the dam from Scarsdale or the County Center. It's a beautiful bike path.
Musical entertainment includes headliner Bobby Doowah, Welt from the Jewish Community of France, Westchester Klezmer, Cantor Randy Herman with members of Kol Hazzanim and Nafshenu Orchestra; featuring Israeli dancing by Camp Zeke, family entertainment including face painting and balloon artistry by Maria and children’s activities with PJ Library. Kosher food will be available for purchase and vendor exhibition will consist of Jewish art and Judaica.
Admission and parking are free.
