Greenburgh Recreation Needs Assessment (759kb pdf file)
This report aims to identify surpluses and/ or deficits in recreational and open space facilities and evaluate the ability of the existing recreational resources to satisfy the needs of the community now and in the future. This report analyzes the desires of the residents and makes recommendations based on the demand for park and recreation opportunities. It will serve as a guide for the expansion of and/ or improvements to existing facilities as well as disposition of parkland. The report discusses the creation and implementation of a Recreation Overlay Zone as a way to conserve scenic and natural resources as well as to limit the potential impacts of residential development. It will also provide a basis for the exaction of recreation fees associated with new development as required by New York State, Town Law Section 277.
