Westchester County Board of Health will be giving Flu & Pneumonia shots. No Fee for Medicare enrollees. Non Medicare fees will be announced in the next issue of the Senior Highlights. Sign up at the Multipurpose Center.

Trip to Apollo Theatre

Tour of Harlem’s Famous Apollo Theatre, where famous performers of the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s played. We will lunch at Sylvia’s  & then tour the Columbia & Barnard Campus.Fee $50.00 Deadline May 20th

Hudson River Museum
July 14th, Wednesday, 11:30am-3:30pm
“Kites Around the World”  Kite artist, Tal Streeter, gives a slide presentation about his kites and talks about the international community and history of kite flyers.  Entrance Fee: $1.50 (pay day of trip).  Lunch will be eaten in the Café.  Fee:  Free.  Deadline July 9th

 


Trip  to Brooklyn Museum
May 27th, Thursday 9:00am-4:30pm
We will see the recently completed “front stairs” to the Main entrance of the museum. A Docent will conduct a tour of the permanent Egyptian exhibit. Time will be allotted to visit other museum galleries; Lunch at the museum. If time permits we will visit a new nearby trendy neighborhood. Fee includes transportation, entrance fee, and docent.

Hudson River Museum

Hastings based Jazz Vocalist, Loryn Altsher and her trip perform songs by Cole Porter, Gershwin, Rogers & Hart, and Oscar & Hamerstein.  Entrance Fee:  $1.50 (pay day of trip).  Lunch will be eaten in the Café.

Trip to Caramoor Center for Music & the Arts
August 1st, Wednesday
 First we will listen to a recital followed by a house tour.  The house, which has a vast collection of eastern, medieval & renaissance art & antiques, is a mansion. We will have a Mediterranean lunch in the courtyard. Fee: $50.00 Deadline July 12th

Trip to the Cloisters
August 12th, Thursday 10:00am-5:00pm
We will have a guided tour of the cloisters and the gardens. Lunch in Fort Tyron Park at the New Leaf Café. Trip includes entrance fee, tour, lunch & transportation. Fee $53.00 Deadline July 15th

Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum & Socrates Sculpture Garden
September 30th, Thursday, 8:45am-5:00pm
Visit the newly renovated museum.  The show is “Robert Wilson:  Installation of Noguchi’s Works.”  Across from the museum we will tour the Socrates Sculpture Park.  We will eat lunch at a Greek restaurant in Long Island City.  Price of trip includes museum entrance fees, docents and transportation.  Fee: $30.00, Deadline September 2nd.

Penn Dutch Tour
October 19th, Tuesday, 8:00am-8:00pm
Fall foliage trip this year is to the Amish Country.  Enjoy the rolling hills, the beautiful countryside.  We will visit Lancaster and lunch at Good & Plenty.  Trip includes transportation, tours and lunch.  Fee: $62.00  Deadline, September 13th.


Medicare Information
Re: Medicare Cards for New Drug Plan
The Discounted Prescription Drug Plan will be offered in June 04
The fee will be $30.00 from June to December 04 and $30.00 form January to June 05
Before you buy this card check with your insurance provider, pharmacy, or Epic
Elder Serve (A Westchester Social Service Agency) is compiling an Advisory Program for this complicated Plan.

NOTICE
All Greenburgh Residents must have a UniCard to register for January classes.
UniCards are $5.00 for seniors and $15.00 for non-resident seniors and can be purchased in the Registration Building. 

Policy:  The Staff will not call participants for upcoming trips to confirm departure and arrival times. We will call if there is a change in scheduled departure and arrival times. (Scheduled in newsletter and on confirmation acceptance post card)

For Refunds: Please fill out a refund form, which are available at the reception desk.

Social Services Available
Every Wednesday 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Joe Murphy, MSW, social worker from the Westchester Clearing House, will be available to help with your social concerns–housing-medical-health-psychological-anything of interest to you. He will be at the Multipurpose Center every Wednesday.
