The Greenburgh Town Board will hold a special Town Board meeting this Tuesday night at 7:30 PM. We will be voting on fire district contracts with Irvington, Tarrytown & Elmsford. Each of these all volunteer companies serve part of the unincorporated sections of the town. The town has three paid fire districts (Hartsdale, Greenville, Fairview) that serve about 73% of the unincorporated section of town. All volunteer fire departments serve the rest of unincorporated Greenburgh. Each of the fire districts are independent of the town government. We are also settling a claim re: Rumbrook Pump station with Irvington.
After the special meeting the Town Board will hold our work session (approximately 8 PM). Among issues to be discussed: scheduling a meeting with the Ethics Bd to discuss possible amendments to the code...budget review.
The Town Board will be postponing the vote on the rezone application (supermarket on Route 119) until our November 23rd Town Board meeting. The village of Tarrytown is working with the town on some conditions that they would like to see incorporated in any rezone action. They have asked to meet with the Town Board to discuss. I think we are making some progress in resolving concerns.
There are many interesting and fun events taking place around town this weekend. For more info visit www.rivertownsguide.com.
PS: There is alot of interest in the upcoming auction of surplus town properties which will take place on November 18th. The town is being aggressive in publicizing the auction (I have joined some appropriate linkedin.com groups which has enabled me to advertise the auction to over 15,000 group members!)
